For those of you not steeped in SC history, it was anti-secessionist James Petigru who famously said at the onset of the Civil War, “South Carolina’s too small for a republic and too large for an insane asylum.”

Open carry with no requirements to qualify for it? I honestly don’t see how anyone can back that movement. If we are going to return to the days of the “Wild West,” we should change our state slogan to “Smilling faces. Ten paces.”

Nice nod toward history Robert. First state to secede, first shots fired at Ft. Sumter…

It’s a GREAT day for rabble rousing in South Carolina!

Boy does this hit the nail on the head in describing all the wack-a-doodle politics and social mores that go on down here. Cautionary statement for those people of moderate or left political leanings who may be thinking about relocating to the Palmetto state.

A nice improvement to one of my favorite quotes.

I’ve always said the last part of Senator Petigru’s comment can still be argued today! And we prove it everyday!
