I’m proud to announce I have won the Elizabeth O’Neill Verner award for individual artist. The awards are presented yearly by the South Carolina Arts Commission to recognize outstanding achievement and contributions to the arts in our state. They honor SC arts organizations, patrons, artists and include business and government entities as well. The Verner Award is the highest honor the state gives in the arts and is designated as the official “Governor’s Award for the Arts.”
Elizabeth O’Neill Verner achieved an international reputation for her etchings and pastels that captured the spirit of the people and places of the South Carolina lowcountry.
Congrats Robert…You deserve it…I certainly enjoy your work.
WooHoo! Congrats Robert!
I’m not surprised.
I lived in Columbia for over 25 years, read the State religiously, and always thought you were a top notch political and editorial cartoonist. Congratulations on receiving the Verner award and state and national recognition. Sue McNamee

Thanks, Courtney! I won another citation of excellence(honorable mention) in the Ranan Lurie United Nations Political Cartoon Award. I can’t announce the other award until it is official in mid-March.
