   I drew this cartoon Thursday before the Obama administration announced their compromise on the contraception mandate issue. My editor will run this on Sunday anyway because the compromise still doesn’t effectively change what’s happened- at least as far as the Catholic church is concerned. I’m lucky my work wasn’t completely negated by ongoing events- it always stings to have to can an otherwise perfectly good cartoon.

   Your cartoon is spot on. All these morons are just flapping their lips in the breeze. This is NOT about restricting access to birth control, it is about government interference in a specific religion (Catholic). Kinda makes you wonder which religion is next.

   Robert, no prob re the compromise! Barry’s just warming up for his next target! (Which target? He has many… How about the Second Amendment?)

   This isn’t over yet by a long shot! This (quote) “compromise” (unquote) still requires self-funded insurance plans to pony up and pay the cost of birth control. The lawsuits are starting to line up. The present administration seems to understand this separation about as much as the one between the Judicial Branch and themselves!
   Maybe the thinking at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is if they keep screwing around with the system enough and overload the Supreme Court, the justices will miss something in their favor.
   I have a feel this issue will not go “quietly into that good night!”
