    It’s like a game of chicken, except if neither one chickens out, the entire country loses. I realize in most cases they compromise and everything is fine, but both sides have to realize at this point that no one action by itself is going to miraculously solve the gigantic deficit spending problem we have going on right now.

    One thing that neither party is bringing up is war spending, but it accounts for a huge amount of money. This needs to be on the table. We have spent so many years and well over a trillion dollars, but there is no end in sight. When will enough be enough? When the country goes bankrupt? If they don’t make some effort to scale down the wars and eventually withdraw, I don’t think we’ll ever see a surplus again.
