    Here’s the original version of this cartoon that ran 3 days ago. My editor at the Herald-Journal thought it could be misconstrued as some kind of ethnic slap at Ms. Haley- particularly following the minor dust-up over the “Burka” cartoon. I’m sure he’s right (about people misconstruing the intent) and I’m very grateful to have a job these days so I was happy to oblige him and redraw without the Indian accoutrement. But I’m posting it here because I see nothing wrong with it. To me, it is an artistic flourish that fits the subject- she is of Indian descent and much has been made of her ethnicity(see Newsweek.) But I’ll bet the kneejerk feminist supporters like the snarky Jenn Q. Public will find it offensive. Stay tuned…

    FWIW, I am a total Old School feminist and I fail to see what’s offensive about this.

    People are hyper-sensitive. I failed to see the point behind the burqua dust-up, and this even less so. Great cartoon! You are on-point, as usual.
