I am deeply disappointed in both the mayor-elect and the former CPD Chief.
Both know the mayor-elect’s job could be in question based on the outcome of this investigation. CPD works too close with the mayor and should have removed themselves before now, while the mayor-elect should have asked CPD to step back and let another investigate this accident. This would have been the right thing to do and the best for all.
At this point, both the behaviors of - or lack of - the mayor-elect and the formal CPD chief are only causing more questions and tarnishing the reputations of both.
