    Johnson???? How about Obama.

Sharon, that’s the point and the twist to the cartoon- that Obama faces what looks like a similar situation to Johnson.

Robert… are you suggesting Obama pull out of Afghanistan?

I’ve seen this cartoon before… somewhere.

Robert, as always another one right to the point and even with a history lesson! Keep it up!

    Nicely done, RA - and with a Trudeau-ian flair….

Bill C., if you’re implying I stole someone else’s idea, I completely refute the allegation. I have not seen anything similar except for a cartoon I did myself long ago. I don’t remember if it was on Afghanistan, but I used the same convention -(White House with word balloons stating facts that appear to point to present administration, but in the end refer to a previous one.) Maybe that’s what you remember seeing.

Good question, Phantom. Right now, I’m worried about our involvement. I have been doing a lot of cartoons with historical references because it looks to me like we’ve sqaundered our chance (under Bush ) to turn Afghanistan around and now risk getting stuck in a quagmire that will make us long for Vietnam. At present, I would go with McChrystal’s suggestion to surge troops- but with an eye to pulling out quickly if things go terribly wrong. President Obama has a difficult decision to make.

Great response, Robert. Well balanced, insightful, and I fully concur.

    Good Bless our Troops too!

Robert, that may have been it.

Is he talking about our current Government, Iraq’s or Afghanistan’s? Or all three?
