Excellent work! Who would you consider to be the Wicked Witch of the West, Winged Monkeys, and the Wizard of Oz…
Good question, Matthew. The cartoon is an imperfect metaphor that I chose as a vehicle to showcase these new buzzwords: Town Hallers, Tea Baggers and Birthers. Truth be told, I think Obama should be the Wizard and maybe the Insurance industry is the Wicked Witch, I guess. Don’t know about the flying monkies- unless they’re the lobbyists for Big Insurance.
The main point of the cartoon( other than a way to use those buzzwords )is to show Pelosi, Reid and Obama’s irritation with and fear of those groups. The cowardly donkey symbolizes congressional Democrats cowed by these groups at town hall meetings…. Like I said, it’s an imperfect metaphor, but I’m glad you liked it.
