What a great observation this cartoon is. The hummer into the Smart car very telling. Too bad the mrorons at the top of GM couldn’t have pursued the Volt 20 years ago.

That the tax-payers are getting duped into owning GM is one of the great fiscal tragedies of this country. As that butterfly is flying up, I see a raven right outside the picture ready to devour it. The raven’s name is Big Government and it will take a catastrophe to make it nevermore.

I hope what comes up all this ‘Big Gov’ madness is that GM finally starts making cars that aren’t completely dependent on gasoline. The principles of combustion engines haven’t changed since they were invented. There’s eventually going to be a limit on how much efficiency we can possibly get out of gasoline.

Every tank of gas you purchase is money going straight over seas to countries that thoroughly dislike us. The amount of gasoline we consume as a country could never be fulfilled by simply drilling our on oil. We need to be self sufficient of our own energy needs or at least rely on countries that actually like us.

We could be energy self-sufficient if we just opened up our own oil fields. It would buy time for the currently non-existent alternative technology to catch up with reality.

That little butterfly ain’t gonna fly unless the feds figure out how to jack gas up to 10 or 15 bucks a gallon and if that happens, I just may buy a horse if that happens. I’m from Texas and I’ll be damned if I’m gonna ride around in a shoebox. You think pollution is bad now, wait till you have to start dealing with real horse crap and not just the stuff that comes out of Washington!
