Is it just me or have Robert’s cartoons been even sharper since he left the State?

Snap! I vote mostly Democratic, but you’re on point here. The only reservation I notice is that Cheney is a former VP who never ran for the presidency, and so his ex-officio status is not on par with Carter, Clinton, and Gore. Humphrey, after a close loss, was not expected to be quiet in 1969, and talkative Henry Wallace was a presidential candidate–sort of–after FDR let him be dumped in 1944. But who heard from Alben Barkley in 1953, or Nelson Rockefeller in 1977? Even Nixon in 1961 was quiet on the new administration–but he had reasons to bide his time, as Cheney now does not. Does he?

Oh yes, the nail…hit squarely on the head…that’s what gives his political cartoon their bite!
