Yes, and notice how we stopped talking about how we ended up using torture in the first place and now are on about what someone not in the driver’s seat knew and when did she know it?
Back on to the main subject, people! Torture: the American way?
Actually, if Pelosi, et al are going to insist on trying Bush administration officials for “torture,” etc, then she needs to be able to explain why she did not take any action to stop it, even as the minority. She did have options; John McCain even brought the issue before Congress. Jane Harmon wrote a letter. Did either change policy? No. But that is not the point. She cannot even say that she went on the record opposing waterboarding in 2002 or 2003 because she didn’t. If she had done something, anything concrete, then she would have some moral standing. But she didn’t. And now her protestations seem hypocritical at best. Despite Democratic protestations to the contrary, it does matter that she knew about EIT and did nothing.
The “issue” is not an issue, unless you’re a NeoLib that is trying to attack your political enemies under the auspice of pursuing “torture” charges for a technique done to our own Special Forces in training.
Queen Liberal Pelosi and all her little NeoLib Obamatons made the error of trying to press an issue that said interrogation technique is illegal and wanting a Truth Commission, only to find out that Pelosi-o knew about those techniques, along with all other Dems in that briefing, and did nothing about it until she thought she could gain a political advantage in doing so.
She, and others of her ilk, continues to show that partisan politics and the Saul Alinsky handbook are more important to them than the CIA, US Military and other agencies charged with national defense.
